Damayantia carinata Collinge, 1901 – Sarawak/Borneo – around 950m ASL
Its an arboreal semislug in the order Stylommatophora and the family Ariophantidae, endemic to Borneo. The species was described from the Kuching area of Sarawak, including Mount Penrissen and Mount Santubong. As in other members of Damayantia, the external shell is strongly reduced and the animal has a soft body suited to movement on vegetation in humid forest. Verified records place it in lowland and hill forest around Sarawak, where individuals have been observed on trunks and leaves during moist conditions and at night. Despite its clear taxonomic identity, key aspects of its biology remain poorly documented, including population density, reproductive traits, and exact range limits within the island.
