Opadometa sarawakensis Dzulhelmi & Suriyanti 2015

Today we found one of the most elusive orb-weaving spider species here in Borneo – Opadometa sarawakensis Dzulhelmi & Suriyanti, 2015. Unfortunately I didn’t brought my camera so I will share a older photo from earlier this year with you guys. I seldom take white background photos, but for this small orb-weaver it was worth the effort.

The male of this species was long time unknown but has finally been seen and recorded 2018 in Sabah by scientists of the Naturalis Biodiversity Centre and Leiden University.
