Morphna maculata Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1865 of Sarawak / Borneo – around 900m ASL

Morphna maculata (Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1865) is a species of cockroach (Blattodea) from the family Blaberidae. The species was originally described as Epilampra maculata; the genus Morphna was later established by R. W. C. Shelford (1910), with E. maculata subsequently designated as the type species. The species epithet maculata is a Latin adjective derived from maculatus (‘spotted/speckled/marked with spots’) and typically refers to a corresponding pattern or colouring in zoological nomenclature.
