Necroscia haanii Kirby, 1904 of Sarawak / Borneo around 1200m ASL.
Necroscia haanii is a species of stick insect (order Phasmatodea) from Borneo. The name was introduced by Kirby in 1904 as a replacement name: it replaces Phasma (Necroscia) punctatum var. a de Haan, 1842; this variety is explicitly not the species Necroscia punctata (Gray, 1835). A revision by Bragg (2008) deals with type material, including a female lectotype from Sarawak (Natural History Museum, London) and a female paralectotype from Pontianak (collector: Diard; Naturalis/RMNH). In the same work, the male and the egg are described for the first time and Aruanoidea schoenbergi Redtenbacher, 1908 is considered a synonym of N. haanii. Concrete evidence is cited for Kalimantan, Sabah and Sarawak (including Sungai Sabangau near Kelambenkari and the Tawai Plateau near Telupid).
