Systella platyptera Haan, 1842 of south Sarawak / Borneo
A great example of camouflaged insects is Systella platyptera an Asian species of grasshoppers in the family Trigonopterygidae.

Three species of Systella are found in Sarawak / Borneo:

  • Systella sarawakensis Willemse, 1930
  • Systella borneensis Willemse, 1930
  • Systella platyptera (Haan, 1842)

These can be distinguished from female individuals on the basis of different morphology of the antennae.
